PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors (OWSIs) are the most sought-after dive professionals across the globe. At Scuba Shack we offer a 7-month instructor internship where we’ll prepare you to work as a PADI professional anywhere in the world (No previous experience needed). No matter what level of certification you currently have, we offer tailor made packages to suit your needs. Under the mentorship of our experienced instructors, you will learn what it takes to become a successful PADI Professional in the scuba diving industry. To complete the Open Water course, you need to be able to swim 200 metres and float/tread water for 10 minutes.
All PADI courses require a minimum level of health and fitness, and you are required to complete a medical questionnaire.
To start your professional level training (DM and OWSI) you need to be 18 years old and have a Medical Statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months (you can get a medical on Koh Tao).
Our 7-month Instructor internship package includes everything you would need from the Open Water Diver course right up to the professional level of PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. If you are already certified contact us and we can adjust the package to suit your needs. What’s included:
Please note that this does not include the Divemaster, OWSI and EFRI application fees. It also does not include the Instructor Examination fee. These are all paid directly to PADI. They currently total AUD$ 1722. PADI fees are adjusted on a yearly basis each January, these are the 2023 fees.
A complete set of dive equipment (except dive computer) is also included, although you will need to purchase your own for a career in scuba diving. We can offer a 20% discount on all scuba gear from any of the suppliers on Koh Tao. You will also get your own Scuba Shack t-shirt and logbook.
Accommodation is not included, but we can assist you in finding the perfect place for your stay on Koh Tao. Monthly bungalow rental prices range from between 5000 – 12000 Baht per month. Contact Us for more information on accommodation.
